Boys: Argyle vs. Salmon Arm

Argyle jumps out to an early  7-2 lead putting a successful 1-2-2 zone press on that has Salmon Arm uncharacteristically turning the ball over.  Salmon Arm puts their own man-to-man press on and claws back to tie it at 10 with a little over 2 minutes left in quarter 1. Salmon Arm goes on a 11-3 run to finish off the quarter. Salmon Arm 13, Argyle 10. Very balanced scoring as neither team has a player with more than 4 points.

Salmon Arm starts off the second quarter with a turnover on a tough defensive 5 second call. On the next two possessions they score to stretch their lead to 17-10. Both teams are going deep into their benches and Salmon Arm is taking advantage. The lead is now 23-10 Salmon Arm. Leader guard, Harrison Archer, comes back into the game for Argyle. This move proves advantageous as Archer gets right to the hoop and scores to break a long scoring drought by Argyle. The next four or five possessions have been quite scrambled for both teams. Salmon Arm starts to hit some 3's and now leads 31-14 over Argyle. Archer keeps Argyle in with a great baseline drive to cut it to 13. The big man Noah Jansen hits two free throws to settle things down. 33-18 Salmon Arm at the half.

Salmon Arm starts quickly to extend the lead. Tough defensive pressure has Argyle stymied but Marco Tancon hits a big 3 to squash the Salmon Arm momentum. Back-to-back 3’s has Argyle back within 13. Archer is the glue for Argyle. Salmon Arm goes on a 7-0 run to make the score 44-25 with 4 minutes left in the third. Argyle is starting to go deep to the bench as Salmon Arm is clearly proving they are the better team on the day. Salmon Arm 53 Argyle 27 at the end of three.
