Girls: Final, Panorama Ridge vs. Charles Best

Panorama Ridge, after beating Holy Cross in the semi-final, continues from where they left off yesterday with an early lead in the girls final. Simrit Bindra has come out 'guns-a-blazin’ for the Thunder with multiple deep three ball attempts early in the first. The Blue Devils have gone on a 9 point run and have a 7 point lead late in the first quarter. The Thunder’s height advantage inside has allowed them get offensive rebounds and second chance opportunities, which they are going to need to take advantage of to get themselves back into this game.

Shanta Barrego for the Blue Devils has been on fire from deep range with her second three pointer of the game early in the second quarter. Panorama Ridge is trying to keep this contest close, and Zainab Khan is doing her best with a sky-high made three pointer mid-way through the quarter. The defensive hustle from the Blue Devils is really paying off as they now have stretched the lead to 12 with a few minutes left in the half. A defensive battle in the first half has Charles Best up 27-14 at the break.

The Blue Devils disciplined and unselfish style of play continues to pay off in the second half as their lead keeps growing. Kendal Sands of the Blue Devils has continued to make the Thunder pay for leaving her open with another open jump shot made. At the end of the third, Charles Best is up 41-23. Panorama Ridge is going to need an incredible fourth quarter to make a run at at hoisting the inaugural No Regrets Basketball Tournament trophy.

The one-on-one defence and active hands from the Blue Devils appears to be too much for the Thunder on this day. Charles Best’s continuous ball movement at the offensive end has the Thunder spinning like a tornado. Panorama Ridge has been unable to create any flow on offence, which has resulted in this lopsided final game.

Final Score: Charles Best 54 - Panorama Ridge 28.

Congratulations to the Charles Best Blue Devils on winning the inaugural No Regrets Basketball Tournament.

No Regrets.
